You have been on my heart and mind lately. I pray for you all regularly. I know potassium imbalances are life threatening, so will add this to our prayers for you as well. Thank you for your compliments of Tim. He is doing some better. Not loosing weight anymore but not gaining any back yet. Still gets very tired quickly when he works. Elizabeth LOVES her rats. The things I know are they do best in twos. We bathe ours once a week in baby shampoo. They are very smart and loving once they get to know you. You have to trim their nails almost weekly or you can get scratched by accident. Females are more active than males but have less odor. The Petco Rat Manor has been the best cage we have had for them. It is not to big or to small and easy for Carolyn and Elizabeth to clean together. It is coated so they dont get bumble foot. I have read that they live till two years old on average but can live longer if well cared for. I have read of them living till three or four on occasion. So...you heard correctly. They only live 2 to 3 years at most. Same as a hamster. We have had many many hamsters over the years and only two hamsters ever made it to three years old. Man! You had a very old guinea pig! I think that rats are much sweeter and more personable than hamsters. They hardly ever bite unless you stick your fingers through the bars of the cage. But not while holding them. Sweet animals but weekly work to keep them smelling good. :) Blessings!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06941712767626451024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4863955725879655827.post-48786725169852062172016-01-25T06:36:11.349-08:002016-01-25T06:36:11.349-08:00Oh Susan, I have been sick myself and feeling so s...Oh Susan, I have been sick myself and feeling so sorry for myself.(lingering neurological issues from the flu) I have finally had enough strength to catch up on blogs, and then I see Tim is sick. Oh I am sad to hear this. We have started praying. I have the opposite problem, my potassium dips low quickly from medications I take. So I eat the high potassium diet. Please tell Tim we think he is just the best dad ever, and it blesses our lives to see his example.

One question about rats. We have wanted a rat for years! (maybe a hairless like our cat- LOL!) But we heard they only live 3 years?? That is so short. We once had a guinea pig that lived 8 years, very few believed us- but he did!! We had hoped rats lived to at least 5 or so?
(((HUGS))) elizhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16376096667336921796noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4863955725879655827.post-5777457730654139072016-01-22T10:14:04.581-08:002016-01-22T10:14:04.581-08:00Thank you so very much!
