I did a lot of praying, holding and comforting. There was a lot of screaming and crying as you and your brother detoxed meth. It was exhausting at times.
You and your brother could barely chew food and had been tied in car-seats your whole life. Bottles were your only nourishment and comfort. I used them for bonding and weaned them very slowly.
You knew only 20 words and most were not good words for a toddler to know. Toys were for breaking and using as weapons. You had enough anger and energy for 50 kids but....you are so very smart, you wanted to learn. So we began to teach you about God and life.
You learned about meal times and how to eat and chew. You have come so far but still have a ways to go in this area.
We have all taken turns sitting and teaching you how to play with toys appropriately.
You have had a lot of firsts here. Like bowling.
Swimming.
Kidz play.
and going to the Dentist.
You have had your first ever Thanksgiving, trip to the zoo, the aquarium and so many more field trips here with us. Your behavior has been "over the top hard" most days but you love us all and have come so very far. Its been a long hard road but you are worth it! We love you so much! God is doing a work in you!
You have grown from a toddler to a boy!
You have matured...some. :)
You have your own daddy for the first time ever!
And so many siblings that love you!
Adoption day was such a joy!
When your birthday was approaching, we asked you what you wanted to do for your big day and you said...Go to a museum to see dinosaur bones and go back to Chuck E. Cheese!
So we took you to Chuck E. Cheese and the next field trip we try, when things slow down, will be a museum. (I have to find one close by with dinosaur bones!)
Look at Carolyn being so brave!!!She has a fear of mascots! |
We love you so much Billy! I am so happy, to be blessed to call you my son! I look forward to the many years of raising you, as unto the Lord, that lay ahead. You have a wonderful future ahead of you! Happy, Happy, birthday my big four year old boy!
Romans 3:20-24 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Love, Dad, mom, Stephen, Antonio, William, Carolyn, Zeke, Elizabeth, Timothy, Kinsley and baby "A"
It is so nice to see pictures of these precious souls. I am so glad to hear more of their story. Happy Birthday Billy. You have a wonderful family.
ReplyDelete: ) You are blessed!
Thank you Hadassah! I am grateful to be able to share their story and sweet faces now that they are adopted. I pray it encourages people out there somewhere to foster and adopt. Every child should have a mom and dad forever of their own. God has blessed us mightily.
DeleteWhere does the time go! They are so sweet! Happy Be-lated Birthday Sweet Billy! My Moses loves the Paw Patrol vehicles but not the figures. Julius has been trying to shove a figure into a Paw Patrol garbage truck! LOL! We never watch the show. We saw them at Walmart and Moses loves how the vehicles. The Fire Engine is his favorite!
ReplyDelete((((((HUGS)))))))) and prayers
I know...right? I can't believe they have been here so long already. I remember blogging about, if God had more children for us to raise and here were are in the thick of it all. :) And happily so! That is so cute Moses loves the vehicles. They are cool. And sweet Julius! It is so good to hear they play in their own way with things now! What a change! What a difference God has made, a family has made, you all have made. We are all so very blessed aren't we!
DeleteStumbled over your blog. You. certainly have a full life. My youngest, adopted from Ukraine at 18 months- had/has feeding issues too. It does get better! I do think he will always be the last one at the table even when he is 25. He is 9 now and still slow as Christmas at most meals but the days of a couple of hours for a meal are behind us.
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving a comment to encourage me! We all need that at times! It is so wonderful you adopted as well. What blessings they all are. I keep waiting for Billy to have a break thru in his eating and it is so hard. A feeding tube has been mentioned more than once. He spends hours at the table eating and me coaching every bite and chew. I used to have to feed him every bite but now will feed himself. I just have to tell him to do it, every bite. Bless his heart. So good to hear your child has progressed to faster eating. I am awaiting the day! Blessings!
